This Tahini and sesame seed crusted Tofu entstand through my love for this seed butter. It’s so easy, comes together in no time and is a delicious component for buddah bowls, in sushi or even on toast!

I could write a praise speech on Tahini, that’s how much I love it. The first time I ever tried it I have to admit that I didn’t know why people would go crazy for it. I thought it tasted bitter and bland. Until I found out that I just didn’t buy a tasty brand. So I tried several, found my favourite and the beginning of a love story is marked…well sort of, we don’t want things to become too exaggerated.

However, I am now a huge Tahini fan and eat it pretty much every single day. It’s a good source of some extra protein and essential vitamins and minerals like B6 and Selenium. Together with (fortified) Tofu it is also a delicious way to up your calcium intake. So much goodness even in such a simple dish!

About this tahini and sesame crusted tofu

As I already mentioned, you’ll be glad that this recipe is very simple- just a few small steps and it’s done. The only thins you need are Tofu, Tahini, a splash of soy sauce and lime juice and sesame seeds. And a few spices you might already have on hand: garlic and onion powder, ground coriander, a bit of cardamom and Chinese 5 spice mix.

We start by making a paste with the first ingredients. In a separate bowl we mix the spices and sesame seeds. Then we are going to dip the sliced tofu into the tahini mixture, the spice mix and bake it! Easy, right?

I served it with some garlic and ginger sautéed pok Choi, spinach and rice. But it would also go really well with sushi or on top of your toast!

Miso in chia pudding might sound a little strange at first. But trust me – this combination is really delicious! The salty-caramel flavor of shiro miso, combined with pumpkin purée and mixed into a creamy chia pudding is definitely something you need to try. I currently found my obsession with Miso again and now I…
